Default Tranny problems...HELP!

I have a 2006 LT 3.5L and hopefully someone can help me. Every now and then it will shift very hard from gear to gear and while it is acting up if i put it in neutral it jumps really hard. Its usually onset from me putting it to the floor or sometimes it does it from normal driving. It wasnt so bad until I had to have the cooling lines replaced which as you know consists of new fluid, filter, and seal. Since then it has gotten worse. BUT all i have to do is put it in park, turn it off, turn it back on and it stops acting up..can someone please help before i burn it to the ground???!!!

Changing the lines does not mean they changed the fluid, and filter. In fact I can assure you they probably did not, unless you paid for it. Otherwise they just topped off your fluid level and sent you on your way.

I would first start by checking your fluid level. Make sure the car is warmed up and running when you check...maybe they didnt fill it to the proper level.

If the level is fine, try changing the fluid and filter, maybe its just due for service.

They did replace the seal, filter, and fluid. Could it be that they didnt put enough back in? Why is the problem stopping when i turn it off then back on? Electrical?

Sounds like maybe a shift solenoid is going bad...

Definitely check your trans fluid. They could have under filled it, or even over filled it. Either one is no good.

is a shift solenoid pricey? I had checked the tranny fluid shortly after i got it back and it was right on the borderline of too little and just enough...but once again it seems to be something other than improper fluid.

The shift solenoid itself is probably not that pricey, however, the labor will be, because your tranny needs to be removed to replace the solenoids. And at that point I would just have the whole tranny rebuilt....rather than paying for all that labor to remove/ reinstall the tranny, and then later down the road have to pay again because something else broke inside the tranny.

At this point it doesnt sound THAT serious, I would make sure the fluid level is proper, and just drive on it until the problem gets bad enough that the dealer and or a shop can diagnois the issue.
