Default Tranny Issues?

I have a 2002 Monte Carlo SS. It has now 75,000 miles on it. It was been shifting rough (slipping) into 2nd and 3rd gear for over a year. Just a few months ago is started getting bogged down when I accelerate at 30-50 miles an hour. It doesn't hesitate all the time. Finally just last week it stalled for the first time. I noticed this week when the car is idling the rpm's drop for a split second sometimes. Think of it as a negative spike. I think this is what caused it to stall.

Has anybody experienced these symptoms? How worried should I be? I am planning on getting one of the newer Camaros, I just hope this car can last until then. Thanks.

I'm having the same issue on my 2000 SS Pace Car edition... haven't done anything as far as repairs just yet and have yet to stall. A friend of mine actually had the same issue with his mustang and it revolved around a fuel line issue. Beyond that I have no idea

It's probably the solenoids in your tranny going bad. Very common with these transmissions. Have your SES codes checked, you may have a P1811. Try changing your fluid & filter, it may help... Otherwise, you got some work to do.

Have the flow of your cat converter checked. I was having similar symptoms with my '03 and the cause was a partialy plugged cat. After installing a new downpipe/cat the bogging went away and the tranny now shifts as it should.
