Default Tranny final drive different, Monte to Impala

The tranny in my car was a donor from a 2000 Impala with the 3.8 from a bone yard. With weird shift issues a mechanic guy I know is telling me the final drive in these 2 cars is different, same tranny but different final drive. Anyone know any different?

I believe the Impala LS with the 3.8 had the same M15 RPO code which would be our 3.23 final drive ratio.

Depends on the engine it was mated to. You could have anywhere from a 2.86, 3.05, to a 3.29.
