Lightbulb Top Swap 3800

My cuisin is going to scrap his 2001 GTP with the supercharged 3800, I have a 2003 Monte SS with a 3800 as well, the cars have near the same mileage on them. Would it be possible to take the supercharger and put in in my car? Could it handle the boost? Or would it be smarter to do a whole engine swap? Thank you in advance for any help!

Sup man I did this to my 03 as well. You will need the parts that are included in the m90 kit on zzp. If you want to run more boost you will need to find a tensioner pulley , l67 crank pulley and 2 idler pulleys which zzp sells. However I first ran the m90 kit with a 3.4 offset pulley which means a single belt setup which is the easiest. The car can handle the boost you will need the 33# injectors, supercharger gaskets maybe fabricated which is cheap that's what my shop did, supercharger oil and a few other parts just look on zzp. If you run a 3.8 pulley it's about 6psi. I say do the offset pulley you get a nice power jump, and when your more serious about modding it and you have more money do a front belt setup so you can run a smaller pulley than 3.4 which means more boost

Just look at the parts in the m90 supercharger kit on zzperrformance.com

search on here or google search "top swap" that will be all the info you need.

in short dont bother with a zzp ssm90 kit as the mod market for them kits suck. if you use his car as a donor car you will need pretty much everything off that engine from the heads up including all pulleys, injectors, some wiring. in all honesty its probably easier to swap the whole engine than to top swap.

also keep in mind if you do top swap you will get kr easier do to having a higher compression ratio compared to the sc engine.

na engine 9.4:1
sc engine 8.5:1
