Could just be your intermediate steering shaft.

Go under your steering wheel and take off the plastic piece above your gas pedal and brake. Pull back a black rubber boot and you should see a blueish greenish circle. Inside there is a knuckle for your steering. Shoot it with some white lithium grease and turn the steering wheel a little, shoot it some more and see if that helps.

i have a 99z34 also but i hear a clicking sound(like something tryin to lock and then unlocks) but its only when i press on the brakes. Like when im slowing down before i go over a speed bump or train track then i hear the sound 1-2 secs before i hit bump. Sometimes i also hear it when i start the car and shift into reverse it will make a 2 click sound; Or before making a left or right turn. Its either 2 clicks or 5 clicks that i hear and it happens randomly.

Default SOLVED-Tinny Clicking Sound When I turn Right

Hi! I wanted to follow up to everyone. It was in fact my starter! I still don't understand the whole technical issue, but apparently the piece inside of the starter was hitting something. It only happened when I turned right because of the where it is positioned and the weight shift.

Starter was replaced and VOILA! NO NOISE!

Good stuff! Who would have thought it could be the starter? That is not at all what I was thinking. Congrats!
