Wow, everyone seems unanimous in that this is a waste of money, or to go ZZP instead. Well I thank you guys very much for your input and suggestions. I'll check out ZZP and put that $115 towards a much more important brake job, and some badly needed new front tires; from doing too many burnouts.

Weren't you just saying you wish people would build their NAs up and not go straight to boost?

Hypocrite :P

I know that I just spent ~$1600 on my engine and I could have top-swapped but I'm happy with having an NA still lol

lol, let me expand on this a little further; this is the route I would take if I had an L36 and wanted to mod it:

-If the person has $500 or less to spend, and isn't expecting a huge power gain; then I'd suggest doing a couple basic bolt ons to the L36 to add mild pep and leave it. Main focus would be the intake and some aftermarket mufflers welded on, mainly to help improve the sound of the engine so there is a more tangible gain.

-If the person has $1000-2500+ to spend; I'd do a top swap, and all the basic bolt ons for an L67 that I could afford. The more money they had, the more mods they could do

-If the person had $4000+ to spend, I'd go straight to a turbo setup- and either buy a built tranny, or being saving for one.

-If the person had $10k+ to spend, I'd probably tell them to choose another platform; because you start quickly getting into diminishing returns from mods, and you start getting too powerful for a street car given the narrow tires we can run FWD

With that said, that is the path that the bulk of 3800 modders follow nowadays because its safe and it works. I do also enjoy occasionally seeing people step outside of the box. I like seeing hardcore CSC, NA, and Twin screw setups (since hardcore M90 and turbo setups have been done to death); I also like seeing oddball swaps and conversions. I know none of them can ever beat the common mod plans in $/hp or whatever, but it is refreshing to occasionally see something different.

Yeah I know those routes. I'm done with my car though, going to do some odds and ends things like new suspension parts, brakes rotors, rims, exhaust and call it a day.

Then I'm off to save for my next toy.

I had it on my S-10 and the gains were somewhat noticeable. I would only get this item if it were on clearence for like $80 or less. Then maybe it would be worth it.
