i thinking of zzp m90 kit
are z3 turbo

mods i have now

3" down pipe
1.9 rockers
180 thermostat
wizaired cold air induction system
fuel pump rewire
alt rewire

i know without changing the springs i cant shift above 6k without
vavle float

Turbo has more ability to mod from. ZZP m90 kit is pretty expensive and you will be stuck to their pulleys and mods.

If you go turbo, you lose the downpipe and wizaired, so you can sell those to make up some money back.

I would never do the ZZP M90 kit...Waste of money, just do a top swap. That kit was made for a different time and era when the parts were more expensive and the market was larger.

If I were to do it all over again I would do a turbo.

This is what I would do if I were you.

-Drive the car how it is and save money. I know it's easier said than done.
-Buy a trans that can support a nice turbo build, used or new.
-Buy a used turbo kit off one of the forums.

Before you look at turboing or top swapping, look at what a built trans will cost. I was quoted a lot more than I was expecting for a trans. I want to say it was about $5k without a 1" GMR chain or a limited slip differential.

I decided to demod the Grand Prix not long after that and get an 86 MCSS, which will be faster N/A with less money invested than the trans would cost.

TURBO OVER SC ANY DAY AND EVERY DAY!!!!!!!!

yes the trans do get pricy but depending on how far you build depends on how much you need to do to the trans. if he is only going a z3 turbo kit and no crazy cam, heads, etc. that makes the big power then he would be fine for a while on the stock trans as long as he was easy on it (no burnouts, no hard launching)

but with this kit i feel he would be fine with a 4340 input shaft, hd diff upgrade, ati converter, 7/8 chain and gears, z-pac, shift kit, valve body upgrades, and when installing all this do a complete rebuild on the trans (every sensor etc.)

in my eyes there is no need for him to spend all that money on a gmr 1" or torsen diff or 300m input etc unless he is planning to make over 400-450WHP and just a basic z3 turbo kit will get him around 300-320WHP so he is safe in my eyes.

just my opinion, everyone has there own and im not saying anyone is right or wrong

i be happy with 300+ if that i just wanted somthing difrent then a supercharger and if i wanted to upgrade i could.
i do plan on going intercooled someday
but nothing to crazy
i want to go with the z3 turbo kit now see how long trans last.
i not going to be shifting over 6k anytime soon as if i change the chain i might as well put a cam in it
