I have an 01 ss monte carlo and recently the engine has been sputtering. When i accelerate it seems like it is not getting gas because it anything but smooth. I will lay of the pedal for a sec than slowly push in the gas and it will move normally. It does it at all speeds when i first start to accelerate and even at higher speeds. At the higher speeds i have it on cruise and it will sputter almost like your running out of gas. If anyone has any ideas where to start like hoses filters or transmission please let me know. Thank You

 

first when did you do a tune up and also replaced the fuel and air filter as well? reason why i ask some times the simple of things can do it. but it also could be a mas air flow thing. but first thing is first did you do the simple things first? then go after the second like i mentioned but after doing what i mentioned usually cures it. if not get it scaned so you know what is going on like a maf or the map sensor. i was just giving some advice and doing a tune up is a basic cheap was to know that has been ruled away like bad plug to a dirty filter
