check the carb(maybe have it rebuilt) and check all the fuel lines and filters

then plugs and wires (easy stuff to do first)

Go simpler. Think fuel filter, spark plugs, plug wires, and check the timing.

Start the car, pop the hood and manually rev the carb. Check the distributer cap as well on the inside and look for any foreign materials.

foreign materials? what like bamboo, sand, crude oil! stone henge perhaps? just playin yeah hunt down the usual suspects. my guess would be timing and fuel. but spark could be a prob or contributing factor
