Default ses/traction control goes off

it doesnt happen all the time, just randomly and not too often. sometimes i'll start up my car, and my ses light will flash and shut my traction control off. if i shut the car off and restart it, it goes away. anyone ever seen this before?

could it be at any way related to my transmission? been having problems with it recently, especially with the 1-2 shift and the upshifts.

Does the ABS light come on also? Because if it does then...

My guess would be a wheel hub assembly is starting to go bad. Tons of sensors in there that go, and then you have to replace the whole assembly.

If you can get the ABS code scanned it should tell you which is starting to fail.

havent seen it on in a while, and no the abs light does not come on. wierd huh.

my latest code was a p1133, but that was from my new oxygen sensor. cleared the code and hasnt shown up since. replaced the oxygen sensor when i installed my pacesetters yesterday.

i just wanna check to make sure, that way i can start saving for a replacement of whatever it is when it completely dies lol. i did scan to see if it threw a code when the light came on, but it showed no faults. just the ses light came on and the traction control shut off. tried to turn it back on by pushing the button, but didnt do anything. it stayed off. shut the car off, turn it back on and everything is back to normal. hasnt done it in about a week and a half though. does it periodically.

Sounds like a speed sensor in one of your hubs is going bad. A dealership with a GM Tech II should be able to tell you which hub's sensor is faulting.

But not having the ABS light go off to, made me think otherwise?
