Service Engine Light

Service Engine Light
Last night just before I got to the drag strip, my Service Engine Light came on. I got a K&N filter... is this a light that comes on every so often or is the MAF getting dirty from the oil on the filter?

RE: Service Engine Light
All you need to do is go to AutoZone and have them run the OBD II. Get the code, and then come back. I have a manual with all codes and exactly what they mean. Not to mention that any respectable auto parts dealer will have a manual for GM models, and can probably tell you shortly after getting the printout from the reader, exactly what it is, and how to fix it.

thats probably what it is is the maf sensor, but go get it scanned just in case
i think this is whats wrong with mine, you have to take the sensor off and spray it with sensor safe brake clean its just the oil coming off the filter

I cleaned the sensor and that didn't do it. I went to Auto Zone and it cmae back "NO CODES FOUND". I'm thinking I should change my plugs now. Would this cause a Service Engine light?

RE: Service Engine Light
As soon as you get that light, you need to get to the auto place ASAP, or else if you shut off your engine, and restart, and the problem doesnt occur again on that specific startup, it very well may reset on the OBDII flash ram, and will give a "no code found"
