Default Seriously thinking engine swap

I'm to the point in my cash flow where I'm really thinking of putting a big v8 in my baby I have enough to buy a new engine on Craigslist and my uncle across the street has a garage/tools/knowledge to do this (if he is willing to help me) and it's really calling my name!! I just want to know what would be the quickest, easiest, best for my money engine to put in it! Please give more than one engine option! I'm ready to get this going and I think it will be a huge nice upgrade!!!

Easiest thing to do? Get an LS4, wiring harness, axles, transmission, PCM out of a 06-07 Monte SS. I'm sure I'm missing some things, but that's the least you'll need to get.

Isn't the transmission the same in the other models as it is in the SS?

Gearing may be different. Do some searching, I'm sure somebody has done this swap before that would have more insight than me.

didn't the 7th gen come with a v8 and a v6 package? I would think that the transmission would be a little different because of that, but if theyre all v8's then they should be about the same
