cracked head or block well you would have antifreeze

Check to see if your timing chain and gear are installed correctly. When my 396 BB was built for my 70 monte, the guy had mine installed 4 degrees advanced and I was having an overheating problem and my radiator was recored and was a heavy duty unit as well as a new water pump, thermostat, hoses, etc. Another guy found the problem and installed everything straight up and my overheating problem went away.

thanks guys i appreciate the help. i replaced the tstat already im gonna try flushing the radiator next. do you guys think if the radiator is not plugged and not leaking that it may be something from the install. the engine i bought is from www.unitedengine.com its the 350 v8 4bolt all we had to put on was the accessories that why im wondering if he didnt put the intake manifold on right if it would leak air into the system and if that would cause the overheating by the way we bypassed the heater core until i buy a new one. thanks guys the help its really appreciated.
