Default Quickest way to 12.1 Seconds

I was curious if any of you have recorded times in a quarter mile from when you bought the Monte till when you finished. I would like to build my Monte to perform around 12.1 in the quarter. If I go below this I will be illegal at the local track for saftey reasons. Any 11 second time at Commerce (Atlanta Dragway) you will be asked not to return unless you have all of the latest NHRA approved safety gear. So I would like to see a breakdown of times if possible, from when the first item like a CAI was installed. Mine is an 2004 Supercharged version currently stock. It seems that I saw this on a Grand Prix a while back. This is what I would like to see.

Stock:15.10
CAI:14.90
Ubend Delete:14.70
Headers:14.40

This is just an example of times and parts, but I think you will get the picture of what I am looking for if it is avalaible.

Thanks!

i'd say smaller pulley, port & polished cylinder heads (stage 2 or so), i believe you can get a port & polished supercharger? i do'nt own a supercharged version (although I wish I did), but it seems like i've seen them from ZZPerformance, PFYC, and 3800performance. if you don't already have it, a good cat back system. then i'd do a shift kit in hte tranny so it can shift faster, then some drag radials (Nitto NT555R, 245/50-16's for stock wheel size, they fit, trust me). i'd guess this would set you around 13. anything past this you would need a turbo or a stroker kit. i'm just making guesses... Explosive sounds (Keegan) or 04intimidator (sorry, I forgot your name) could give you more accurate info.

to hit 12's it is no easy task... and to be honest the best answer to "how do i hit 12's" is If you have to ask your not ready to hit 12's.... sorry to be blunt

after you have done major research and know what you need you can plan your mods accordingly. there are many ways to get to 12's if you want to do it in one jump or many small jumps... and then there is if you want to make it relyable or just a track car... or even if you will want to take if faster later. many things to consider and each consideration will make the setup diff....

if i wanted to take your car to 12's this is what i would do:
first investment...A Tuner for the PCM DHP powertuner or HPTuner
-Wideband O2 sensor
-plenty of time learning to tune

Trany:
-3.69 gears
-shift kit
-2800 stall converter
-trany cooler
-pair of tq star wheels w/ drag radials

Supercharger:
-3.4/3.2/3.0/2.8 pulleys (even at this point you want a progression of diff pulleys for safe tuning)
-Stage 2 Ported SC or Gen V SC (inlet and outlet porting)
-Northstar Throtle body w/ external MAF
-FWI
-Stage 2 Intercooler with reserve tank designed to hold Ice for track

L36 block w/ l67 heads (the higher compression of the 36 will give more power on less boost)
-Pacesetter header
-3" HF cat, single magnaflow muffler, 2.5 to side pipe.
-XP cam
-double rocker timng chain
-90# springs and retainers
-autolite 103 plugs
-ported heads

Weight reduction in car.
-seats, carpet, misc junk/panels

I have to say about the same thing as z34phoenix to get in the low 12's, But you can always just add a shot of nos and some low gears, Might get you close to 12's. You would never get there with just bolt on performance parts.

You would be surprised what you can do with one!

Odessa, looks like you have the supercharged version, which is alot better than being N/A and trying to hit 12's. 12's are easy.

Full Exhaust to include headers, Ubend delete, and catback.

Generation V Blower with Modular Pulley System.

New Throttle Body (northstar)

CamShaft (XP is the best for stock heads)

Intercooler (Stage III will allow you to run a 3.2-3.0 on a Gen V)

A good Dyno Tune

Bingo, 12's, if not 11's, depending on your weight reduction and how well someone tunes you.

Cost? That's a different story. If you are already S/C, maybe another 6-7 grand will get you where you want to be... =)

Oh, and by the way, with my current mods, I'm already at 13.97, and when I put the mods coming in March, I'm aiming for exactly what you are... low 12's. =)

He also meant Double Roller, and ZZP has a kit that comes with headspring, the XP cam, and a double roller, all on their website.
