Default (Question) 2003 Monte SS ~Top Swap~

OK, straight to it...I have a 2003 MC SS (L36) and I'm ready to begin the swap.... But first, I world like to know; Can I upload any 2004MCSS (L67)PCM file and go from there as a functional, non-issue, starting point?
I've read everything from, PCM OSID won't communicate with BCM, to just install the 04 file and I'm good to go.

Thanks!

You need a custom tune, top swaps have higher compression than full L67's, not to mention the tranny gear ratio is different

thank you, but thats not what i want to know. My post wasn't all that precise.
To ask another way; Will a 03 ss be able to retain its communication between the PCM and BCM when a, 04 SC SS filei is installed?
As far as the, "tuning" itself...I'm fully aware, and capable.... this isn't my 1st swap.
Oh, and I have a Powrtuner (had since its debut), and a HPTuners.
more thing.. thank you, but thats not what i want to know. My post wasn't all that precise.

As far as the, "tuning" goes..I am well aware of parameters needing changed. I'm DEF. aware that a L67 has lower comp. than a L36.

Oh, and my other car is a, '97 GP GT thats mod list

(i just listed the 'main' mods) goes..L36 short block, ZZP Stg. 3 heads, XPZ cam, ZZP IC, Headers,.Gen.V.

You have HPT, try it. I don't think anyone on here has yet to try it out. It seems 99% of the tops swaps are in 2000 Montes, and everyone just mods the stock file, which won't accept the 2bar map well, or they get a zzp tune.

Hopefully someone can chime in, I say try it anyway. If it works let us know.

I would have already been to that point now... but, the Monte is my "DD" so, I don't want to have it in the garage longer than it needs to be.
But, u just gave me an idea.:..I'm wondering if I could install the. bin file, and see if i can start the engine, (a few tweaks to smooth it out a bit for the TEST, and if it starts and doesn't shut down, or trip any faults with the 04 file...i have answer.

Thank you!
