6th Gen ('00-'05): pre-tuned PCM recommendations?

pre-tuned PCM recommendations?
Posted on facebook...figured I'd ask here for you non facebookers.
Money has been kind, and I'm thinking in between the suspension upgrade get a pre-programmed PCM. I don't know of any good tuners in my area so this is my next bet.
Any recommendations to order from? Who to avoid?

I'd say use Will at overkill motorsports, that's where I want to get my tune from when the time comes.

Jen, if you are looking for a complete tune, I believe most of your car is stock, correct? There are a lot of vendors out there was tons of experience in the 3800's. I have always heard good things about OverKill. My initial tune was done by PCMforLess.com (they have done a lot of work with a friend's Corvette over the years that my friend has been very happy with).

Why don't people just take their Monte's in and get them dynoed and the PCM tuned to the cars abilities instead of a generic tune? Just wondering....

All I really need is just a generic tune.. I don't want anything crazy just yet. I just want the basics. And like I said in the first post. To this day I have not heard of anyone reliable on long island for 3800 tuning, if they are around..its a 2-3 hour drive. Just a bit risky on a fresh tune..

Hearing that, I asked questions with one or two mail order tuning shops. I decided to go with PCMforLess (as they sounded like they had experience to dial me in and I know a couple that have done some crazy stuff with their Vette and PCMforLess always did them right from what I understood).
I had to ship my PCM into PCMforLess a couple of times to get where it needed to be so the car was right, said and done, I think I had $200 or less into it. Down side was being without me car during this time.
Now for people who's cars are mostly if not 100% stock, there's a few mail order shops that can improve the tune with no problem.
I do agree, dyno or street tune, your car will be dialed in far better then a mail order tune.

Okay, now I'm getting a better feel and understanding of these mail order tunes. The cost is substantially less and it gets your car's performance in the ball park. And then if a dyno shop is few and far between and results are subjective to the cars engine condition it may not be worth dropping $900 on a tune and dyno session and perhaps even a HP tuner license. Guess it's like the old saying, Pick your battles. Thanks
