Is it possible to swap the 5.3 v8 from 06-07 into a 97 Monte Carlo?

probibly, the major thing would be finding one with a trans and the wiring harness.
"anythings possible with a sawzall and enough beer", lol
i've suprisingly never heard of one being done, but if you can get a compleate engine & trans & wiring harness, go for it. it'll be quite a bit of work though.

I'll up your video to one that is more interesting

Plus I believe it runs 11's.
On topic, I wouldn't waste the money to do the swap. The general rule of thumb is that if you have to ask the question, then you are not ready/capable to install an LS4 into your 97 Monte. There has been a guy that installed a Northstar v8 (Cadillac) in a 5th gen Monte, but the swap was a pain and I believe there are still a couple of bugs even to this day with it.
An easier swap is the L67 swap. I recommend that.

It's an interesting swap, but it's a difficult one. You may have been thinking about the 4.9L V8 swap into the 5th gen Monte's because those engines used the same tranny (4T60E). Even that engine isn't completely a direct swap, but I would imagine it would be easier than the Northstar. The problem with the 4.9L V8 is that it only makes 200hp and 275 lbs ft of torque. Plus it has almost zero aftermarket.
If you're going to do that much work, you might as well install something that has much more potential, like the L67 swap.

Didn't say my recall was perfect . . . ;-)
Any V-8 swap for a V-6 is going to be tough. The 3800 has a LOT of potential. Personally, I would go for the 3800 w/turbo or blower.
I get into enough trouble with my stock Z34 so I will be keeping it as is.
