About your point with the 3.8 f-body, that kind of goes along with my cheaper insurance/registration. It sounds like you guys in New Jersey are lucky when it comes to registration. In Michigan, registration costs are based on what the vehicle cost when it was brand new. That's the one crappy thing about Michigan. But I'm happy that we don't have vehicle inspections here
yeah registration is great, but insurance is highway robbery. i pay like 2000 a year and i havent had a ticket in 12 years. im moving to progressive, but even with them its 1300. better but not good.

oh and bumpin i didnt take that into account about the smaller pulleys spinning the crap out of that blower generating a ton of heat. so ill agree with you on that. on the whole ls4 into an older body. i would say it would only be worth while if you already had an older body and you can score everything you need for under 3g, and have it put together in a reasonable amount of time. if not i think your just better off holding out. hell id be surprised if next year i can get 10g for my monte and i paid almost double that. prices are dropping, and i think theyre going to be super affordable with decent mileage in the next year or so.

Just got home from picking up my car and must say I am very impressed with the performance of a 3800 II! The shop finally got my new motor installed and they did a great job, the total bill of the swap including the price of the motor was $1149.50 and $600 was for the motor at which only had 80k miles on it. She starts up and takes off very quick. Remember this is coming from a guy who has owned 2 Foxbody mustang gt's and one had a 302 bored out to a 306 with 4:11 gears. Needless to say I am very happy, I see a long future with this Monte

L36 because I didn't want to have to face transmission issues anytime soon
