Engine Build: Possible 454 Swap, looking for help
Hey all! Im new here. Historically, I'm an F-Body guy. Recently, however a neighbor of mine showed me his MINT Grand National and got me thinking about getting into the G-Body family.
Long story short: I recently did a full rebuild on a Gen 6 454. Bored .040 over, roller cam, roller tip rockers, bearings, seals, the whole 9. I honestly just like to build engines and usually just sell them for profit but I figure since I have it...maybe I can find a nice rolling chassis Monte Carlo near me to put it in. So with that in mind, my question is this: Will the stock, truck oil pan thats on it now fit in say an 80s era Monte or no? Im assuming no and if thats the case, can anyone point me in the direction of a pan that will fit? Again, its a Gen 6 BBC, so it has a 1pc rear main. Before anyone gets mad or whatever, I did search the forums here and all I could find were questions and posts about 3800 or LS oil pans. In any event, thanks in advance for your input!
