Performance Chip
Hi,
I'm no expert and I am sure they do a lot.
The one main thing they do is advance your timing to give you more jump off of the line.
I don't know how that affects the top of yourrpm curve though.
Now you've give me something to google while I am at work.

I found this blurb. It was as I thought but I didn't want to post bad info.

Your 2000 MC doesn't have a replaceable chip. It does, however, have a re-programable computer. The PCM. I just got one from ZZPerformance. I'm now in the market for a tuner to adjust as needed to keep things up to date. I'm continuing to mod my Intimidator.
HP Tuners has a great programmer. I've got one and Keegan just got his. They do a great job for making it easier to program that the DHP software and has graphing options to help avoid mistakes.
yeah ... retuning fuel trims and adjusting shift points is where you will see the easyest gains from with a tuner, as you get more advanced in tuning you will learn to make adjustments to the spark tables and see even more power. then after that you will be able to make fine adjustments to everything and have a tune that not only lets you save on gas day to day, but allow you to smoke them tires when ever you want.
not to mention being able to read sensor data to help diagnose probs with the car.

haha, no, were talking about ones that have true power. the ones on ebay are a rip off.
the ones they are talking about are http://www.hptuners.com/
good site, and im thinking of getting one myself. when it comes to a tuner, you get what you pay for!
