Default PCS and overdrive

Right now I'm getting the dreaded p1811 code. I know the PCS needs to be replaced but my question is this. Since the PCS has gone out, I'm assuming I have no more Overdrive? At 45 mph, I can feel the car shift into overdrive but the RPMs remain the same. Or could this be totally unrelated? A bad TCC or stripped 4th gear?
