Default pcm problem

hey guys, i was going to get my pcm flashed, so I went to a local scrap yard to pick up a spare one. They ended up giving me one for an alero, and said it should work because the part services numebrs are the same (which makes sense I guess). but, when I put it in, I turn the key and nothing happens, the dash ligths come on, but the starter wont turn over. whats wrong? do I need to reset something to make it work?

I pretty sure you have to get it flashed to your prom # on your old one. Being the same part # is not enough.

you can also try doing the relearn on the computer. turn the key on for like 3 min. turn it off for 30sec. and then on again for 3min. somehtign like this do a serch on relearn i know it is posted here. and that should reset the new one and hopefully that is all ya need for it other wise it is reflash it to make it work with a dealer so they can program it also
