6th Gen ('00-'05): P0742 after changing tcc and shift solenoids
Hi guys, love all the help ive seen and read on here and was hoping for a little assistance. Im working on my sons 02 MC 3800 with a 4t65 trans, we had some shifting issues and (i forget the codes) the scanner led us to changing the shift solenoids and while i was in there i went ahead and changed the tcc solenoid as well, changed the filter and gasket too. Did alot of other unrelated work at the same time, general tune up stuff. But now we are getting a p0742 code (tcc stuck on) and someone mentioned a ball through a screen in the valve body was possibly the cause and to just replace the valve body. If i do that do i need to find the ball and put it back or is that part of the valve body assembly or would we be better off replacing the trans? He is to the point he is ready to get rid of it but after all the work we have done to it i hate to abandon a car that he loves and is the first car he bought with his own money. Any help would be greatly appreciated guys and gals.
