Default Dtc p1811

Hi,my 2005 monte ls has 137km on it and I noticed it would shift late and you would feel a slight jerk when it did,so i scanned it and came up with the P1811 code,I phoned a reputable transmission shop and he said I needed to have my transmission rebuilt, because the valve body seals are shot??,is this true,I put a bottle of lucas stop slip in and it was fine for a couple of days, now its doing it again, also from what I've read that maybe a transgo 4T65E shift kit might remedy the problem by making it shift faster??

P1811 could be caused by two things. In the good event, you just need to replace the transmission solenoids (pressure control solenoid is the problem) but you gotta drop the cradle or pull the engine/trans to get to it. In the worst case, you need a rebuild.

Basically. I pulled my engine and transmission, but I had a backup car. Just hoped it was the solenoids, and in my case, it was.

Not that I know of. You can check the wires that go to the transmission, but I think it would only show that voltage was making it that far.

I watched a video on youtube, where he dropped the cradle, except for disconnecting the steering linkage, wouldn't that be easier???

That is the easier way to do it from what I've heard. I had other things to do and a garage which is why I just pulled everything.

No problem glad to help. Might as well change the pressure control, shift, and torque converter clutch solenoids in my opinion. They're all right there and takes like 30 seconds to swap each one out lol
