Not as many people go that route because it is stupid expensive for the gains. A full top swap from a junkyard can be done for half that price (with the same gains)- or you can pick up a used turbo kit for a little more.

I also wondered about this SS kit as a EASY and reliable way.

a junk yard price for a Topend swap is $500+.

Could this kit get you in the high 13's?

Maybe if you have other mods.. I don't think this kit alone would get you there though. Rockers/headers/cai/catback/etc. would probably get you there.

well yeah with supporting mods. It just seems easlier with this kit than the Topend swap, not to mention more reliable too.

I thought about doing Gt1 cam/Pems/fwi/3"dp with this kit.

How does the trannies like this kit tho?

Our trannies aren't reliable with any mods, with that said I'm still rocking an original almost stock tranny with over 160k miles.

The top swap is just as reliable as the kit, but it is slightly more difficult to install. An L67 swap is the most reliable though.

If you do supercharge your Monte in some way, don't get a GT1 cam. That's for an NA setup. People see great gains with the XP cam on blower setups. If you don't plan on intercooling, then you can also consider an NIC cam.

Also, the SSM90 kit all by itself will not get you into the 13's. You will more then likely run mid to high 14's with the kit only. The people that make the most hp with M90's have a top swap with raised compression. It's the best way to go.
