Default New Reline Performance Chip Yay or nay?

I recently bought a Redline Power Chip for my '95 z34, it is a Chevy M1-PM only designed for Monte Carlo's 89-2005 Models. Claims to add up to 35HP. The Chip Model number is : M1-PM CHY-3872
Any input/opinions?

well since they say from 89-05 im calling BS right now!
from 89-94 the pcm (computers) ran OBD version 1
95 had obd 1.5
and 96 and later have obd 2

since this chip covers them all it deffinatly does not replace or modify the PCM.
my bet is that it plays with your IAT (intake air temp) sensor
these have been around ebay for a long time now and do not work. they may work for about half a day but then the computer will see that the signal is not correct and then disregaurd that signal... and then you loose power.

they work off the principle that when there is cold air, the computer adds fuel and retards timing to comp. but there are other sensors that the pcm reads and if they all dont match the computer goes into safety mode and pulls fuel and timing

thanks phoenix, Do u have any suggestions for a good intake I could put on mine? I had a friend recommend a Fenderwell Intake and another person said that a 1995 3100 would fit onto mine('95 dohc 3400); but like I said in my New member post I don't know alot about cars right now, I'm just learning as I go along here.

go to my web site. on pg 6 i have a full write up on how to make one yourself. will work as well as any you could buy and is a lot cheeper. i also have a lot of other write ups there too. also FYI if you have the 95 DOHC, it is a 3.4L not the 3400. the GM 3400 is a single over head cam and not the dual like ours.
