What is the the newest model 350 motor and transmission that I can fit in my 74 Monte Carlo without making any kind of changes? I just bought the car and it came with a 305 olds. Thanks for any help.

to my knowledge oldsmobile didnt have a 305. there closest is a 307. are you sure its an oldsmobile motor? all of the gen 1 small blocks will work without any changes. so anything from the tpis down. not the lt1 ls1 stuff. itll fit all the big blocks and small blocks but all the newer stuff is going to require the electronics to go with it.
