Default Need Some Help..

I've got a few different problems. They're not really problems, but more questions and ideas and I need some help, considering I'm only 17. I have a 2000 Monte Carlo SS with the stock Series II 3.8 and I want to get some more power out of it, quite a bit actually. The first thing I thought of was a supercharger, a bit pricey but will provide with some more power. I also found some other things and here they are:

http://www.engineperformancechip.com...r-2-5-psi-p-16

http://www.engineperformancechip.com...ce-chip-x2-p-8

http://www.engineperformancechip.com...ke-system-p-20

http://www.engineperformancechip.com...mance-unit-p-3

http://www.engineperformancechip.com...take-system-p-

I know it's a bit lengthy but ya those are the things I thought were interesting and would get me the most "bang" for my buck. This summer is when I plan on doing this all, along with help from my mechanic brother. Just give me your input on this and let me know..Thanks, Patrick

dude i reallly dont wanna rain on ur parade.....but stay away from every single thing u posted. if u want boost look into a top swap. theres a billion threads on here about it. as for a chip see above link. get a pcm, cai, a nice downpipe and some mufflers u like. thats a good start. then start looking into deeper engine mods

Wow, yeah- thats all a bunch of crap. I couldn't get the last link to work, but the first 4 links are $720 worth of stuff for virtually no performance gains- just a whole bunch of gimmicky crap.

Have you read the 3800 modding sticky thread yet? If so, forget that page you were looking at- and start here instead:

https://montecarloforum.com/forum/sh...ad.php?t=10942

There is plenty you can do to gain power with real mods for the $750 or whatever you were planning on spending.

sweet..The one about the electric supercharger I threw in for ****s and giggles. I just did this on a whim. But thanks for the input, I found this **** online at school and it was some of the only stuff I could find that wasn't blocked by the school internet security ****. I also found a Easton M90 Supercharger from a 02 Pontiac GTP anybody know if that would fit my Monte..Thanks again..

Search for 'top swap' it has been covered many many times. You're gonna need a lot more parts then just the SC. Try going to places like zzperformance, wbodystore, intense, 3800performance, prjperformance, etc for your mods- those are the companies that deal more specifically with these engines.

wow ive never seen such a load, an elecric super charger that puts out 2.5 psi, that would probably be about the same power loss as running your air on high. glad to see you didnt get suckered into that one. LOL and a chip with a slider to gain performance? you could go to menards and buy a resistor(the same thing that is in that "chip") for oh say 25 cents, and hook it up to your air intake temp sensor, but that is such a load!!!!!!!!
