Default Need Help Replacing Tentioner Pulley

Hello All,

I have a 2002 Monte Carlo LS with the 3400 v6.
I have the classic issue of a bad tensioner pulley. I haven't worked much on these motors before, and am baffeled out how to remove the tensionor pulley. The only bolt head that is exposed is the one at the base of the tensioner arm. Do I need to remove this bolt and the arm all together? It appears that the bolt that holds the pulley on is on the block side, so it isn't accessible w/out removing the arm.

Has anyone replaced the tensioner pulley before? Please help.

Thanks

Shannon

yes at the pivot of the tensioner there is a bolt holding it on... remove that .... you can swap just the pulley but for the price diff its best to replace the entire thing. as sometimes the arm can snap!
