Default Gears: can we change them???

I've heard some friends talk about their gears. I got a friend who has a Mustang and he said he has changed his gears to improve his performance and he said it is better than some of the more common mods people do to their cars.

Canmy 06 V8 MC SS have its gears changed or adjusted to perform better?

yes you can but it's not as eazy as a rwd car because you have to take the transaxle out but the good thing is you can change the final gear ratio and you can also change the chain ratio in the front to make a difference

Its common for RWD guys because you just swap the gear set in the rear end.

FWD is 100x more difficult, you must tear the entire transmission apart to do it. We don't have a gear set for final drive ratio- ours is dictated by the ratio of sprocket sizes- one connected to the engine through the torque converter and the other connected to the differential and output shaft- the two sprockets are connected by a chain.

This is what you would need:

2.93 3.29 3.69 are the most common ratios available
