I took my 98 Monte Carlo to the mechanic last week. After he replaced the crank shaft sensor and the cam shaft sensor ($500 cost), he said that there was a knocking in the engine, and there was no oil pressure getting to the top of the engine.

Assuming he's telling the truth, what range would the cost be to fix this kind of problem? I just want to know if I should keep the car or not.
