Motor Mount Bracket?
yes. the passenger and driver side are different shape. the passenger side is little more shape than the driver. so how many bolts were under the mount? i only took off the driver side, so did you have to remove the coil pack out of the way?
I had to get the breaker bar out and a swivel socket attachment with an extender on it. There is 4 bolts and a bracket that holds the mount from the front. The 2 front bolts are east but the back ones WOW took some patients and some hand/finger power to get them off but I did it with only having to disconnect a few things and not take anything off the engine.
just thought id give u a heads up all the clunkers from my work are going to u pull r parts and there has been a few buicks with the 3800
I actually just stopped there today! They did have a ton of 3800's but they were all early models with the torque strut on the bottom and at the side of the engine. I payed $2 to get in too and was not happy I felt like just taking something off a car and putting in my pocket but I am honest so I didn't lol. The great thing was they are actually connected to a place called AAA salvage so I just went in there thinking o well give it a try. It wasn't a U pull it place but they had the part and pulled it off for me charged me only $30 so I was actually pretty happy about it.
yeah i always grab fuses and buld when i got...they dont have a price so i figure theres my 2 bucks...havnt delt with aaa much but my work gets motors and trany's from there... upull and aaa used to
1. There is a little black bracket attached to the top of the mount the part (looks like some sort of filter) that is attached to that slide up and it should slide right off (might be a clip on the back side) Move that aside and take that little bracket off there should be a bolt for it on the backside of the mount.
2. There is another bracket on the serpentine belt side of the mount should come off easy with another bolt (makes it easier to get at the bolt for the mount.)
3. There are two bolts on the back of the mount (One its a regular bolt one was a torx or at least it was on mine). What I had to do to get it loose was use a breaker bar with a swivel but I would try to use a socket wrench or even a regular wrench to get it loose first. You can only get so far with the socket wrench so you HAVE to use the regular wrench to get it totally out. Basically I had to use the combination but you could have better or more tools than me so you could use something else.
4. There are two bolts at the front and a black bracket with a small bolt at the bottom. Those 3 bolts are pretty basic come out pretty easy.
Other than that I think that is pretty much the procedure I followed to get it out. It wasn't fun finding that part but after about 4 or 5 junk yards I found one. Any Q's let me know I would have taken pictures to show here too but I was too lazy from work lol. Hope it helps good luck.
PS- I was going to get it welded but the people I talked to said it was cast alum. and it would probably end up breaking again and it would cost as much as replacing it.
The part was only like $30 but I didn't haggle for it either and I got it from a "They pull it" junk yard.

Okay I'll keep my eyes open, I can't seem the find the part online from morad, or ebay or anything, and really those are my only options. Not many junkyards around, and the ones that are I don't even want to do business with her in Philly.
