Could anyone tell me if the traction control interferes with the transmission?

I noticed my traction control light is on. And I thought maybe that's the reason it has a tough time coming out of first. But if I put the car in first gear it moves fine.

if both lights are on, then yes it does affect your shifting. Mine did this last year during the winter and shifting from 1-2 and 2-3 would be extremely rough. Unfortunately, there are a multitude of problems that could be giving you this shifting issue. listed below are the most prominent ones:

1. Bearing Hub/Wheel Speed Sensor worn or broken
2. Dirty Throttle Body/MAP Sensor
3. Some people ive talked to have mentioned something about a Cam Position Sensor (i dont think thats it though)

My problem ended up being a combination of 1 and 2. I replaced my right front hub/sensor assy and it happened less frequently, but still happened. I talked to a forum member named God_Bot and he suggested I clean my throttle body. Skeptically, I cleaned it really well (definitely needed it) and it actually does work, i havent had that light come on in the past 5 months! it used to come on twice a week :/ Try cleaning first, then move to the mechanical issues if that doesnt work
