if both lights are on, then yes it does affect your shifting. Mine did this last year during the winter and shifting from 1-2 and 2-3 would be extremely rough. Unfortunately, there are a multitude of problems that could be giving you this shifting issue. listed below are the most prominent ones:
1. Bearing Hub/Wheel Speed Sensor worn or broken
2. Dirty Throttle Body/MAP Sensor
3. Some people ive talked to have mentioned something about a Cam Position Sensor (i dont think thats it though)
My problem ended up being a combination of 1 and 2. I replaced my right front hub/sensor assy and it happened less frequently, but still happened. I talked to a forum member named God_Bot and he suggested I clean my throttle body. Skeptically, I cleaned it really well (definitely needed it) and it actually does work, i havent had that light come on in the past 5 months! it used to come on twice a week :/ Try cleaning first, then move to the mechanical issues if that doesnt work
