Welcome to the Forum..
Most of the time running faster & to save gas don't go together..

Welcome.
I'm a PC Geek turning car nut.

As Jerry said, going fast and saving gas is not usually a common combo. You have three factors with performance modding:
- Reliable
- Fast
- Fuel Efficient
And most of the time, you can only have 2 of the 3.

Now, you have a 3100 v6. There are a few things you can do, but not much.
Not very extreme (I've done these to my '94 Grand Am with a 3100):
- L67 Coils (reliable coils from the 3800 Super Charged)
- K&N Air Filter

A little more extreme:
- Exhaust
- Some form of a Cold Air Intake

Mild:
- 3400 Top Swap (you need at MINIMUM 3400 upper/lower intake and throttle body, for more flow, grab 3400 heads).

Best:
- Drop the 3100, get a 3400 and be done.

The 3100/3400 swap from a lot of reading I have done is almost one of the easiest swaps you can do. It's mostly trading off sensors. There are a couple "gotchas" depending on what year 3100/3400 engines you are dealing with. The N-Body (Grand Am) crew is big with the 3100/3400 as that was the best those cars had to offer. I know there is a sweet step-by-step write up on the Internet somewhere explaining how to put a 3400 in a 3100 powered '95 Grand Am.

with that kind of mileage you might want to look into doing a swap or something.

3500 swap would be cool and unique or a 3800 like everyone else does lol

if my 3100 ever died and it was worth doing an engine swap, i'd most certainly be going for an L67 hehe. Sucks, 3100 options are so limited.

that is just the thing, there isn't much for options for modding, there is not intake that will work good, just the chrome intakes on ebay and that's just going to harm you powerwise.

Why are you looking for L67 coils? I have some that have 20k miles or so on them, but all GM coils are the same
