You should have done a top swap.

@Enzo354 (or anyone else): What exactly is involved in a swap? I assume a relatively "virgin" L36 is what is needed to start ...

It was like $197 shipped. i know SLP makes one but I didnt want the badge. I got it online at GM parts direct. You get it a lot cheaper there than at the deal itself. And It was a top swap at first, till the bottom half blew to cylinders, so i figure well might as well just re-due everything. lol

Ouch, lost the bottom, that had to have been exciting, LOL. Was you really getting on it when she popped? Mine was initially built by a dumb shop in Vegas and I was on the freeway pushing it hard and Kapowww!! It was a hell of a puff of smoke and loud explosion and then a dead stick. Kind of exciting in a way. Have had it built by a much much better shop over 3 years ago and she is holding together just fine. It's our live and learn process...New heads will go along way for the extra power your after, but like you said have to sit back and accumulate more coin. Hell Stage 4 ZZP heads heh heh heh, nice!! Take care, hope she comes back and the weather holds out for a few test drives.

Same thing here minus the Kapowww.. A shop that I though was good mixed up different things and just cause me to blow cylinder 4 and 6 o rings right out. So since its my only car i drove it on 4 cylinders since the other 2 were in constant misfire and lets see after that I cracked a head and then the crank snapped in half. lol. that was a very bad sound with oil left everywhere. Yea it will be the stage 4. If your gonna do it do it right first time. But gonna be hard to baby the new engine since I have to be easy on it till it works in. They said 1000 miles so this weekend i plan to do just that. lol

Suckers, I hate it when a shop will take on a project that is well beyond their capabilities and leave us holding the bag. And the whole time they are smiling at you, taking your money and know they dont have a REAL clue as to how to make your engine hold together at extreme upper level pressures. I'm so happy for you, hope you thoroughly enjoy the break in period, it is going to be difficult to stay out of the motor. LOL, I said before but I really like the color scheme you put together. I wanted a Yellow Monte, but apparently it did not come as a color option on the 2002 Monte SS, had the salesman go and check and he said it is not available so I ended up with my Red Monte from the middle of the show room floor. But they do leave us thirsty for more power, wish we lived around each other. would make a bad *** pair of Monte's running the streets.

Yours looks sick as well. I like the rims and the hood a lot. I want a different hood but cant find the one I want so I will be building one. Yea they would sick cruising down the road.
