With all of the modern electronics, I think the swap might be quite difficult.

Just to swap an LS4 into a 6th gen requires you to redo all of the electronics and put the dashboard in from the LS4 car as well.

I have to agree with this. I work extensively with MEs at my job, and they spend a lot of time on the shop floor. I thought about it myself, but with me working well over 40 hours a week (and probably needing a 2nd job to pay to start school back again), it would take me several years to finish.
