I was pondering this for the past few weeks now, and I can't help but feel its been asked before, but I wanted to know if anyone has tried, or know anyone who has actually done an engine swap with a 2006-2007 3500 Monte Carlo V6 engine (or 3900) with the Chevrolet Impala's new 3.6L, 300HP LFX engine. If not, how difficult would that be? Would it be harder then I imagine? After all, its more-or-less the same housing.

 

As far as I know, I have not seen it done. It's so new that scoring a cheap donor car would be tough.

 

Yeah, I can imagine how expensive or hard it would be to get without the right connections, but I am thinking about it more out of concept for the future, not something I will do soon, my engine is still quite new, after all. How difficult would it be?

 

Hard to tell how to go about the tuning and if any additional electronics need to be grabbed.

 

it is some thing i am also looking into as well. it looks like there is a couple of extra conectors for the trans mission and getting the bcm programed for every thing as well. i am forming a parts list for a how to for me to see if it is a just a $$ thing
