Hey Jason. Yeah, I'm looking forward to a crisper response across the power band. From what I have read, there will not be any butt dyno change. Will report back.

Install should be pretty simple, two 5.5mm hex screws per coil.

Keep us posted, id like to hear how you like the throttle response with em.

 

OH, glad you mentioned that. Usually those 5.5mm screws come out, but I've had some that round out. Lately, if I have to pull a coil, I've begun swapping for larger hex head bolts from the hardware store (stainless if possible) and avoid that issue for future service.

If you ohm out an L36 coil and a L67 coil you will find very little difference. So little in fact, that it wouldn't be enough to see or feel ANY difference in performance. The only difference is the color of the seal and the bracket. Some claim a smoother idle after the swap, but my money is on the fact they corrected a poor contact when they reattached the plug wires. As far as a 'boost' in mid range power? 100% psychosomatic...

 

There have been several members on here that will attest to performance increases or throttle response changes. Until someone does a side by side coil to coil voltage output comparison or some dyno runs we will never actually know. Ohms arent the sole determiner of voltage output.

I am literally (as in like in 15 min) going to put my set on and then well see. If someone feels like it gave them an increase, then congrats, performance increase or not, they are happier with their car.

I highly doubt GM would manufacture 2 identical coils with different product numbers... That said, today I installed my ZZP ER Rockers, L67 coil pacs and aluminium coolant elbows... It is a rainy day, so test trials were very limited, and unfortunately doing both mods at the same time it will not be possible to speak to them seperately... One very noticed improvement in the butt dyno, the pick up after 3000rpm, a very noticeable improvement..... The only issue is that there seems to be a periodic miss, worse immediately after install and seems to be less and less as the car is driven, just wondering if the PCM needs time to adjust to both mods..... If someone can confirm, that would be appreciated... All in all a very healthy mod and very big on the smile factor...
