Just got "The Word!"
Hi guys, good news, just got the word from the Mrs.. According to her bedget, one of the things I am not good at, we will be able to put Ol Yella in the trans shop on the 28th of this month. I'm trying not to be too excited but!!!!!
In the mean time I am continuing to get other things done on her. Front Brakes have new calipers, rotors and pads. All the best meterial. I Got the pads for the rears. The rotors are $55 a piece, so I'm buying one at a time, once I have all the parts, I'll do the install. I'm getting another hub assembly for the front drivers side. I got a cheep one 2 years ago and it has failed again. More right turns than left here in Jersey. This time I'll spend a Good Dollar! It's also about time to replace the power steering pump. Not gonna get a used one. Want it to last at least 3 years. Once I got all that done, I can start Prettifying to my taste.
So that is my progress and plans, had to share cause it gave me a big to here an actual date for the Trans, my automotive nemesis!

Thats wonderful news JC! Nice that you have been chipping away at the other odd and end projects while your Monte has been down. Going to be good to know your up and running again.
Hope the shop which does your rebuild knows the tranny well enough to do the key part enhancements and your Monte can stay on the road for years to come!

Thanks Greg, the Trans guy, Mike, showed me a 4t65e all apart, the we're working on, and the new parts, upgrades compared to the old ones and explained why the are inferior. He also explained how the solenoids work to make the trans up and down shift! He talked to me like someone who understands cars. And his price is relatively reasonable for this area. The Mrs. Is putting 2 grand a side but he sade $1600 for a complete rebuild. So I'm enthusiastic about it. And you know how critical I am about Professional Mechanics! This one has my vote!
