Intercooler time...

Not sure, but I think there's a guy from MM and CGP named DOHCZ34 (Chris) that has a turbo/IC'd 3800, running high 11's I want to say.

i just wish that the 3500 had a long run like the 3800 did to have the mods like the 3800. i am not complaning it is a impressive list that you have i have a feeling the engine will love the new intercooler as well as the list you have. it is good to know that you have a game plan i am glad to know to ask if i ever get a 3800 for mine to ask you ;P. wich i am thinking about doing swaping out a 3500 to a 3800.

For you it would be better to go to a 5.3 like mentioned above. Remember, they made A LOT of electrical changes when they switched to the new motors.
When someone went to a 5.3 from a 3800 he had to splice into all his harnesses inside to get everything to work - plus your mileage wouldn't be displayed on your cluster because it's stored in the engine computer on the newer models.
Going to a 3800 wouldn't be an easy swap, so I'd bump to a V8 and start with 300 horse power, then just build up your tranny and put a cartuning turbo on it.

And you can make the engine system standalone, it just takes some work to get the gauges to work. If you switch to all manual gauges it is about 500x easier on the wiring end of it.

The fastest 5th gen was DOHCZ34's Monte. It ran an 11.98@117mph, but has since been demodded/sold.
