Default Intercooler time...

Just got a couple parts in today, and figured I'd post up some pics. Still have one more box coming tomorrow, but it's nothing real crazy- just a second Walbro and some replacement aluminum LIM gaskets.

Old IC on the right for comparison (~1 1/4" thick vs 3")

How the setup normally comes with the small core (obviously without the plugs in the coolant ports):

Blocked off to ensure the bulk of the boost bypass air comes from the underside of the IC, not shortcutting it across the top (it's upside down):

New 100mm aluminum MAF and LS7 lifters:

All the recent ones together (those are 110# injectors- it's E85 time!):

It's a 3" cowl- but I don't think it's going to clear. I imagine either the pulley or the MAF will hit.

The hood needs a little fiberglass repair anyways (one of the nuts inside broke loose)- so I think I'm just going to hack the hood up and raise/widen the cowl until it clears.

Short term plan is just to run no hood like I've been doing.

Fastest non-running monte, lol. Still has a ways to go to get it running again. Here's the list:

-pull the rear head, replace headgasket
-finish installing alternator relocation kit (need a belt and an idler pulley- plus rewiring)
-reinstall heads
-reinstall LIM
-reinstall blower/IC
-open up Animul inlet adapter for the new TB
-order whipple bypass valve
-bend tubing to connect BBV
-install PCV and catchcan system
-install 2nd walbro, run new fuel lines
-reinstall headers
-finish intake
-order/install remainder of IC parts (pump, reservoir, radiator)
-remove AC radiator
-tuning

So on top of the parts above- I still need to order another $1k or so of parts to get it running right again.

Probably not going to start working on it for another month or two- it's too hot out here now to enjoy driving it, the dragstrip is pretty dead- and no one is really doing anything car show wise anyways.

You do have quite a list, but I hear you about it being too hot to mess with... It's been around 100 degrees here for a week now. At least you don't have to worry about much humidity, making it super muggy.

You, my good sir, still have one beastly 5th gen. Possibly the fastest of all time (that's still FWD at the moment)

I never thought about that- any idea what the quickest 1/4 on a 5th gen is?

Might be worth sticking some slicks on it and going for broke before the rwd conversion...
