Default if my tranny needs replacement. . .

So my cars been stumbling at highway speeds. I'm pretty sure it's the transmissions fault.

I'm going to run some cleaner in the trans, flush and change filter. If it doesn't clear up after that then i'm forced to swap trans. If i do swap, I know of one with a 91k they're are now only asking $250.

I just wanted to know if their is any suggestions of what i should do to the trans before install. Change all sensors in it? any aftermarket pieces i should maybe throw in or anything?

It doesn't sound like this is really a huge issue, the rpms drop a few hundred and thats the only issue? Before you do a trans swap i'd look into solenoids or other possible solutions

this^

I wouldn't settle for the one with 91k on it, that's a lot for a used tranny, i would look for one in the 20k to 50k range or get one rebuilt

What makes you think it's the trans? Lots of potential causes of stumbling at highway speeds. Does it only happen when trans is in overdrive? Have you tried keeping it out of overdrive to see if it still stumbles?

I'd consider letting a shop diagnose the problem before assuming it's the trans.

Sorry i forgot to mention i wouldn't consider swapping trans until the problem horribly worsens. hopefully i can ride it out for a long time but this is kind of a what if situation.

i know some of the simple of the things will make it stomble like over looking the last time the tune up and fluids have been changed i am not saying the engine oil i am saying the trans fluid as well. also when was the laast time did you clean a reusable air filter or replace the paper one. the maf would be tweeking a few things to save the powertrain. i just want to ask befor doing a computer scan because it will clear it up if it is some thing over looked
