Default How to determine vacuum point setting

Hi, I have two questions.
First, I installed a TCI lock up kit for my 1986 MCSS(200-4R). I think I hooked it up correctly, I took the positive lead from the trans connector to my (what used to be the cruise control contacts) on the brake switch then to an “IGN” spot on the fuse block and the negative lead to the little square vacuum switch in and out to a ground, then connected the little switch vacuum port to a ported vacuum port on the carb. Then my dash gauge cluster blew a fuse. I noticed the “gauge” fuse is right next to the “IGN” spot I used. After driving the car for the first time after installing the kit my oil pressure gauge read way high, the gas gauge was reading way low (tank was full), etc. then when I turned my headlights on the all went dead. Can there be a problem with this set up? The gauges worked perfectly before. Was there too much draw for the entire fuse panel with the TCI install???
Tomorrow I’m going to disconnect the TCI kit at the fuse panel and see if the problem persists. If then there is no problem what do I do about this kit hookup?
Second, the little vacuum switch that comes with the TCI kit is slightly adjustable and I see this other vacuum switch from another company is widely adjustable. For my transmission what is the vacuum point I need to be set at…and how do I do it? Thanks. Steve.

Transmission vacuum should be full manifold vacuum. Basically any port under the throttle blades.
