Help with a question
#11
Alright, cool. Id have to think about what I want to go with. Im into 1/4mi. racing. Id love to do the cam but if the install on rockers is that much simpler, I might go with them. So far all i have done is exhaust (no headers) and a shift kit. KnN intake is on the way. I might get it tuned to, im not sure yet. But thanks for all the help!

Let me put it this way: If you're going to modify your engine, then don't worry about the wear on the engine from the modifications. That is, even if the parts cause a little more strain, you're probably going to drive the car harder. This is where most of your problems will come from.
With that said, I've had a GT1 cam for about 100k miles now and have been boosted for about 15k miles and have had virtually no engine problems related to the mods. Rockers probably won't effect the reliability of the engine at all.

I've had my rockers + a bunch of other stuff on my car for about 30,000 miles. I also have over 182,000 miles on my car.
I haven't had any mechanical issues. If I were you, I would send that K&N FIPK back and not install it and go to ZZPerformance.com and purchase the Wizaired Intake System.
Also, if you decide to make a day of it. The HV3 couples well with the er rockers, and ripping down to your LIM gaskets and replacing them with the metal version is a good idea. Shouldn't take you more than a day, and on the way back up you will replace your gaskets, do a tune-up, and have new mods

If say save more and make your own intake. If your even the least bit creative you can pull off a very nice one for under $50. If you eat to go all out buy insulation and sheet metal or plastic and have one even better then you could buy for under $100!!!
But deff agree on the HV3 I have one the I have installed yet. Planning on it for wed this week. I got it at a great deal... Otherwise I would have just waited for my topswap to be ready. I have so might as well run it a few months till I have the sc on it.
