This has been happening ever since I bought jack. In the morning when I go to start the car it would crank for atleast 5 secs maybe a bit more before firing up. It would run and feel fine once I start driving. I can start the car thru the day and it would fire right up. But as soon as I leave it over night I get that long start in da am where can I start to look for to fix this...its quite embarrassing when it dont fire up normally

 

What's the normal ambient temp when you start in the morning? (and mid day?) In the morning, have you tried turning the key in the ON position for at least 3 seconds & then turning the key to start position?

 

Lately around 76....but it did that when it was 40-50. I think I have tried that before but still got a longstart. I will try again in da am

 

ok i did it today around 12ish and it started fairly fast.....what could this mean>?

 

With the key on for a few seconds it allows fuel to pressurize; keep experimenting with between 3 - 5 seconds with the key on before cranking over. If it consistently starts normally with non extended cranking then I would be leaning toward a fuel problem:
I would consider using a bottle of "sea foam" or techron - Amazon.com: techron

run your tank down to almost E - then add the bottle before you fill up the tank. Run the car a little harder than you normally drive it with this tank of fuel. Run the tank almost to Empty before you fill up again.

After this, replace the fuel filter; then see if your car starts normally again

 

i replaced the fuel filter when i firest got the car, i run 2 bottles of techron chevron every oil change but i did the wait 3 seconds method this morning and it started fairly good again i gotta do the seafoam again cause i did it wrong the first time, and also wait till next oil change
