As stated, leak in the fuel system, perhaps releasing a small amount of pressure from the line (thus after two days, no more fuel in the line and the pump has to build it back up). If you can smell gas under the car, that's probably the issue.

A buddy of mine had a problem similar to this. He ended up needing new plugs and wires. We looked at them when it was wet and dark out (and still in the engine) and we could see one of the spark plug wires sparking at the head. Just something else for you to check out.

It's tough to say. It leads me to think one of two things:
- Battery is dead (not holding a charge anymore)
- Fuel Pump is dead
But without looking the car over, tough to truly call it. If you can "borrow" a battery from another car and pop it in the Monte, that's the quickest way to test a battery.

Glad we could help.
FYI - I noticed in an earlier post you mentioned "water in the distributor cap". Your 2000 Monte Carlo does not have that. The distributor cap/rotor design is replaced with the ignition module and the coil packs. Just for future reference (otherwise you'll spend all day wondering why you can't find a cap).
