Default gear ratio?

im replacing my trans but i need to know what gear ratio i have and have no idea how to find it

theres two to choose from

A.T., 3.8L, 3.05 axle ratio (opt F83)
A.T., 3.8L, 3.29 axle ratio (opt FR9)

whats the easiest way to find this out??

Find your RPO codes and match up the option that you see.

Assuming you drive an SS, it should be a 3.29

I'm pretty sure the 3.05 option was only on buick and oldsmobile

There should be a sticker on your trunk with a bunch of RPO codes, and you would look for either F83 or FR9
