Default Fuel system leak on 2002 Monte SS

I recenty noticed a big drop in my cars MPG's and im only getting like 250 miles a tank. My check engine light turned on recently too. I had it checked out and its showing a leak in the EVAP system. The mechanic said it can be a loose gas cap or a hole somewhere. Im just trying to get an idea on how much im looking at spending on a repair. Any ideas?

The most common problem is a bad seal on the gas cap. I'd start by replacing it. If the code comes back you'll need to take the car to a shop and have them do a smoke test to determine where the leak is. I have no idea what shop rates are in your area.
