Default FML with these heater hose fittings!!! agh!

it happened again! but this time on the interstate!
it was shortly after getting off the ramp onto the interstate that i see a bunch of smoke coming out from behind the car
so i immediately pull over to check on it
sure nuff was the elbow fitting that was cracked and coolant was gushing out
my trunk and rear bumper were covered in dex cool :p

had it towed home, i replaced em once again, but why does this keep happening?

could it be the radiator cap not relieving pressure or something? it's all rusty and old :p
it already has a new 180 stat on it from friday when the same thing happened
im still running dex cool but really thinking of switching to the green coolant, would that help it run a little cooler?

let me know what u guys think

maybe something is clogged in the cooling system causing more pressure there... if you pull the hoses off the rad and try to flow water thru the top of the engine does it come out fast or seem restricted?
